The Xiaoqilin is an all-electric microcar launched by JMEV, built around the practical premise of "five doors, four seats, and a 201 km range". The 2025 model officially went on sale in August 2025, priced between RM39,900 and RM43,900 across three variants.

Positioned as an A00-segment pure electric city commuter, its key selling points include: a 5-door, 4-seater body layout (a notable practical edge over the segment's usual 3-door designs), a CLTC-rated range of 201 km, electric motor outputs of up to 30 kW (on mid-to-high variants), and an accessible entry price of RM39,900. Primary competitors include the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, Fengguang MINIEV, and similar rivals.
The car measures 3,500/1,646/1,460 mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,340 mm. Up front, it features a T-shaped enclosed grille flanked by eagle-eye headlamps, complemented by full, rounded vertical tail lamps at the rear. The 5-door setup serves as its main differentiator, ensuring easier ingress and egress for rear occupants. 14-inch wheels are offered in both steel and alloy options, while the cabin is predominantly trimmed in durable hard plastics highlighted by light green accents.
The electric motor and battery pack are available in two setup configurations:
| Variant | Motor Output | Torque | Battery Capacity | Range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Entry-level Variant (PLUS Comfort) | 26 kW (35 PS) | 84 Nm | 15.86 kWh | 201 km |
| Mid-to-High Variants | 30 kW (41 PS) | 85 Nm | 15.88 kWh | 201 km |
The entire range is powered by Sunwoda lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries and supports AC slow charging only (taking approx. 8 hours for a full charge), with an energy consumption figure of around 9.2 kWh/100 km. Top speed is rated at 100 km/h.
Underneath, the vehicle employs a front MacPherson strut independent suspension and a rear trailing-arm non-independent setup, paired with front disc and rear drum brakes alongside a mechanical handbrake. Equipment prioritises everyday functionality: standard across the range are a driver's airbag, tyre pressure monitoring alert, reverse parking sensors, hill-start assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. The range-topping variant (RM43,900) adds a 9-inch central touchscreen, reverse camera, Bluetooth connectivity, and smartphone screen mirroring. However, a front passenger airbag is omitted across the entire line-up, and electronic stability control (ESP) is not equipped.
Through sharper price positioning (a substantial drop from the 2024 model's RM49,900–RM51,900 bracket) and an updated powertrain, the 2025 model aims to secure a larger foothold in the RM30,000–RM50,000 micro EV market. Its main strength lies in the practical balance of a 5-door, 4-seater cabin layout and a 201 km range, though the absence of DC fast charging and a front passenger airbag remain noticeable drawbacks. Brand recognition and showroom network reach also continue to lag behind segment leaders.
